get organized: gratitude

(This is day 15 of the Get Organized Series)

WOW! What a journey it's been. Thank you for letting me be your guide along the way. We started 15 days ago by setting your intentions and creating the vision for your ideal life. Now here we are, hundreds, if not thousands of items later, sitting in your fresh new space surrounded by all the things that bring you joy.

Now more than ever, with the uncertainty and fear brought on by COVID-19 we need to take a deeper look into our lives and analyze what truly matters. Be more present, think about others, listen, don’t be so hard on yourself, connect with one another and be positive, as hard as it may be.

I’ve been thinking a lot about life and the situation we’re currently facing this past week. I was laid off from a job I loved due to this pandemic and it’s been a whirlwind of emotions since. The good thing is that this has allowed me to slow down and focus on projects I had continuously been pushing aside. I went back to school and have been using this time to write, meditate, exercise and watch silly tv shows.

What you should take from this experience and our current situation is that life is too short. Surround yourself with only people and things that matter. Don’t waste your money or your time on things that don’t. Try new hobbies, be kind, laugh at your mistakes and don’t be so serious. As cheesy as this might sound, I think we all need some cheese in our lives right now!

So take today to be grateful for everything and everyone you have. Take time to appreciate your surroundings; slow down and enjoy the little things in life. I want to thank you for being a part of this series, and I truly hope it changed your life.

Now grab a glass of wine, a piece of cake and go watch Nailed It, you deserve it!
